One need look no further to find examples of computers in medicine than the microprocessor-based watch, pager, or cell phone, the hospital information terminal where we get the results of computed tomography, or the security pad that accepts our code number or scans our identification badge to let us into the hospital after hours. Like so much of current life, the practice of medicine has clearly entered the computer age.
